A visit to discover a sapiential path that winds all throughout the city
Alchemical Florence, symbols and mysteries
We will start from the Loggia dell’Orcagna, a veritable treasure trove of hermetic science, to discover a sapiential path that winds through the city to arrive at the Oratory of Bigallo. There, the images carved in bas-relief on the outside refer to one of the most mysterious paintings of the fourteenth-century Florence, preserved inside the Oratory itself: the visit will end in Piazza Santa Maria Novella where we will discover that the facade of the Church, the work of the architect-initiate Leon Battista Alberti, reproduces the movements of the celestial spheres, and the decorative panels are complex astral talismans, drawn up according to the Neoplatonic philosophy professed within the Florentine Academy.
