Pontormo inside Certosa in Florence. Art, symbols and secrets
In 1523, the doors of the Certosa Monastery were opened to welcome Jacopo Pontorno and his beautiful frescoes made for the Great Cloister of the monks. Even today, shapes, colors and alchemical symbols follow each other in an innovative and elegant gait on the walls of the Pinacoteca of “Palatium magnum”, still an important center for culture and art.
After an unprecedented reading of the works on display, the visit will continue in the Chapter Hall and in other focal points of the Monastery, to reveal unusual details linked to that serene artistic period that saw Pontormo accompanied by the greatest masters of the time.
